MMMMM HONEYDEW! My little man is the size of honeydew this week! I totally want some!
I can't believe that in just 2 weeks I'm done with work (at least my last wedding until June) and then it's SHOWER time! Libby will be here in 3 weeks for a week to help me get ready & settle stuff from showers.
Finally we finished registering (including a stroller last night!) It's all done! Let's get this rolling!!!!!!!!!
About time too because technically in just 3-4 short weeks he could come & be completely healthy (36-37 weeks is full term). I'm hoping he'll hang out & wait until at least 40 though because that is the healthiest option & I'd like to have my showers & decorate the nursery! If not though- it's cool & I'm on the way to being ready.
Mom & Dad (soon to be nana & papa) have just ordered our totally sweet crib & I got some sheets. We have had some really generous people send gifts our way!
I now have TONS of clothes, super cute shoes, a neato boppie thing, crib on the way, sheets on the way, a diaper sprayer, cute stuffed animals, tree decals for the walls, a painted nursery, fun books, leg warmers, hats, & more all ready for this little man!
Can life get more exciting? I'd like to know!

Lett-us Be Glad !
Hello week 31! I can hardly believe we are on the 10 week countdown???????? Crazy!
So Florida was fantastic, the weather was fabulous & the best blessing EVER and coming home to 5 degree weather didn't last long because within the week it's up to 50 again!!!!!!!!! What is the deal with this winter? I'm not complaining! I love that it's been warm & pretty sunny this season!
So I've been feeling pretty sad about how people have been treating me/not treating me latly.
I always through that being pregnant got you like "special treatment" at least in this 3rd trimester. People letting you in line at the grocery store, offering to carry your heavy bags, letting you in line in the bathroom(and that happened for the first/last time in Florida) and other various helpful things.
But the plane trip home was so awful that I cried/sobbed for 30 minutes......
Here is the story: We had a 45 min layover in Georgia & I was nervous about getting from one plane to the next & to top it off our seats somehow ended up in the VERY last isle of the plane right next to the bathrooms & meaning we are the last people off the plane.
As soon as I got in there I asked a steward to see if we could be closer cause the smell was TERRIBLE & we didn't have much time between flights. I know for a FACT most of 1st class was completely empty. All they said is- we will see.
So after sobbing hiding my face in my sweater so I could breath (while Nate had no clue what to do with me) we start driving down the airway & the lady was like you can go sit in the emergency isle seat if you like....
(MIND YOU- the first flight (on the way down) they kicked me out of my spacious emergency isle leg room seat & stuffed us 6 isles back instead of letting us be in first class because I was pregnant & unable to open the doors- ( I even asked if we could be in first class since they were moving us and he laughed at me....) now they are telling me to go sit there????????????
Then I explained to the lady now that our bags were in the last overhead in the back there was NO way for us to have time to wait for everyone to get off the plane & then go back for our bags... Couldn't we go up to first class with our bag? NO NO NO of course not! So there I was stuck in the WORST SMELLY AWEFUL seat ever.
I was sad the entire flight & we had to RUN through the airport arriving out of breath to the next plane..... Poor nate had to carry everything while I wobbled around in pain behind him....
People are just plain rude. They dont' care about others & generally speaking it's super hurtful. I really haven't felt very special at all. Actually being pregnant just makes everything harder because you are so heavy, you can hardly move, you can't lift things, you are in all sorts of weird pains & to top it off you are so hormonal it's like being a teenage girl about to get her period! lol.
The grocery store hasn't been much better. I see people who are obviously not pregnant (just lazy) park in the one & only maternity spot. No one ever offers to help me with my bags. The people that check me out rarely even help me bag (and it's a store where they are suppose to bag for you).
Just plain sad feeling so helpless & ignored.
So I've been praying a lot about this & trying SUPER hard to keep any & every memory I can of my wonderful Nate & all the great things he does for me, how special he makes me feel, the way he smiles when my belly moves from kicks. I try to focus on my amazing parents (especially my mom) who offers every week to come & clean & hang up my clothes. My friends who smile so big & get excited when they see me. Then the few & far between strangers that make me feel special.
Like our waitress at the Thai restaurant who got SOOO excited that I was pregnant & through broken english guessed it was a boy, asked if it was my first, asked how many weeks I was, and giggled with delight.... Then at the end asked to touch my belly & feel the baby! Of course I said YES & helper her find his little butt! teehee NOW THAT made me feel special, important, & cared for. (I left her like a 40% tip... hahah)
So here is to my little head of lettuce baby & letting us be glad for the small things in life & choosing to let them become our memories instead of all the hurt.

BabyMOON
Hello Week 30! HELLO FLORIDA!!!!!!!!
How goes it? Well you say?????? Thanks to loads of Vitamin D, warm temperatures, good food, rest from work, & some good walks daily I am feeling pretty great! I am so thankful for this trip to Florida. Thanks so much to Nate's mama & John! They have provided us with an excellent place to stay, fed us meals daily, loaned us the car to drive to the beach, and endless conversation! Parents & grandparents are just amazing & so essential to pregnancy... lol. I can't imaging being without the help my parents & especially my mom have been during this trying & changing process of life.
In general the discomfort isn't as bad as I imagined/ heard it would be at 30 weeks. The only real complain I have is this awful pain in my spine/rib still....since about week 20 which makes being in a car HELL. I can't get comfortable in there even if its' like 5 min. I think it's something about how the seats are... even laying down in the seat isn't ideal. It just shoots like a stabbed nerve up my side. I hate sitting for long periods of time as well so working at my computer is hard... so this vacation is greatly welcomed. It gets worse at night & I really think it's just how the baby is laying. He turned over (a GOOD thing) around the time it started hurting. So if I lay down it goes away for awhile.
Oh yeah..... My feet started swelling down here. BAD too. Like giant gross sausages. SAUSAGE FEET UGGGGGG. I just think it's the heat. I'll probably go down when we get back to Illinois. I started putting them up on the beach & its much better.
I've got the pregnant swagger going on. I call walking waddling these days. Nate calls it my swagger. LOL> Although I really didn't see how my belly was gonna get any bigger .... it has!!!!! It's huge & requires a great amount of effort to get going.
SEEEEE
I'm at the record weight of my life & it's definitely showing. I spent far to much time over the last month looking at my beautiful pre-pregnant self & thinking.. gosh you were so skinny! lol. Nate's been great encouragement & every time I slip up & starting crying... "I'm SOOOOOO fat... waaaaaa" He reminds me it is temporary & not fat.. just pregnant. It's REALLY sweet. So thanks to him I'm surviving the enormity of my whole puffy body.
Thanks for tuning in!!!! Can't wait till APRIL PEOPLE! It's gonna be AMAZING!
OH yeah... today I got to indulge in one thing I've been hoping for since I got pregnant. A very nice lady at Naples Pier Beach let me in front of her in the bathroom line.... AHH pregnancy special treatment! It's really the first I've gotten. Hoping the next 10 weeks are loaded with sympathy courtesies!!!!!
