Touch My Belly | RUB-A-DUB DUB

So everyone always is talking about "oh have you had random people touch your tummy yet?" and "Oh man if a stranger just touched my belly I'd flip on them" or " do people walk up & touch you yet???? lOl Well most times I wish people would touch me more. I'm not weird about that stuff at all. I'm so excited about the life inside of me it brings me joy when other people get excited & want to feel apart of it all. So I never thought it would be weird & really most people ask first & I'm like OF COURSE touch away! If enough days go by & no one has touched my belly I'll just offer it up or demand a friend touch it... hahahha.

WELLLLLL today I had my first experience with a completely RANDOM stranger touching my belly without asking & it was hilarious.

So Karen & I were downtown buying into yet another set of our ever addictive lifestyle games... yes purchasing another set for dominon. {Actually with our forces combined we now own EVERY single set... Obsess much?} lol. So we are at Aerie Gryfalia's (the best local game shop around) in downtown bloomington & karen wanted to make a gif of my belly standing in front of the lincoln mural across the street. So there we are minding our own nerdy business taking pictures. This lady come walking across the street smiling & just says something along the lines of " awww getting photos of the belly!" and she reaches out (mind you as I'm walking the opposite direction as she is) and not only touches my belly but does the whole RUB-A-DUB on the belly!!!!!! HAHHHAHAHA I just stopped completely shocked & speechless.  I had no clue what to do or say... but she didn't stop & make it more awkward she just kept walking. lol. So I just giggled & walked off like it was totally a weird dream. Man that was weird. It didn't really bother me or anything, I liked it in a weird way but it sure was STRANGE. lol. It made me feel like I lived in a little village & everyone was one big family & I had known her for years or something.

Never Been So Excited

seriously.. i'm getting ready to wash my first load of baby clothes, get the nursery started, and I've never been so excited in my life. He's excited too cause he's kicking with joy in there!

Most of these cool & unique shoes come all the way from the lands of Japan thanks to Stephanie! The little monkey sock boots... well those are for when I caved last week at HOW stinking cute they were.

Most of these clothes are Kai's SUPER cute hand-me-downs! Once again cute Japanese clothes. Then I broke down & have purchased quite a few things myself & Libby just sent several incredibly cute things this week. One cute onsie is from one of Nate's trainees & they are just all SOOO stinkin cute I'm beside myself with happiness.

I'm once again weeks lat eon belly photos... I really need to get better at that. The last post was 26 weeks weeks I think & now I'm at 28 weeks! It's goes so fast!

Stay tuned for nursery extravaganza!

FunsieS!!!!

Seriously want to know the highlights of my weeks?????? This amazing little cupcake pan that Stephanie made for me filled with little cupcake surprises! Yes it's so FUN. When I start a new week I get to open one!!!!!!! She filled each cupcake with a note of encouragement, a joke, or a scripture. They all give me such inspiration. It's the best thing for me ever cause I am staring at it every day wish the days by so I can open the next one. Check it out!

Concentrating on getting this whole registration thing out of the way. Seriously so much more intense than wedding registration. Besides the fact that I have no idea what I'm doing, and I'm already so pregnant that I can't remember what I entered a room for... yeah good luck to myself.

We've done consumer reports on a few things, friends have told us what's best for a few things. I have this panicked feeling that I am forgetting something important. Then Steph reminds me I've got two of what I need growing on my chest... then I calm down... haha. If Jesus can be born in a barn, placed in some strawy dirty manger, and he grew up heathy I'm gonna be just fine. My baby lives in America the land of too much... haha. Anyways it is stressful & I want to get it over with. I'm about to pay some mom to do the whole thing for me... haha.

I've got no clever title for a cucumber

seriously... no clever title. Baby B reaches the length of a cucumber this week. My app says he's the size of a cucumber but serious that is just smaller than last weeks size??? So it much be the length? I mean how many cucumbers do you see larger than a papaya????? or even an ear of corn???? NONE! But 26 weeks is here & I'm happy.

He's still cozy inside my womb & that makes mama happy! He still kicks up a storm but it feels different now... def like he's losing space quick. I've started to feel a little better other than this terrible constant mysterious pain in my back. Someone out there say some serious prayers for that to go away. It's really excruciating. Less tightness has helped with the random pains, I'm not sick anymore really just some sinuses at night & soar throat from mouth breathing... at least which is weird cause he's just getting bigger ever day! I hope he's putting on the fat cause I have been and I can't wait to nuzzle the little chubby arms!

The extreme tiredness is kicking in again. I'm not complaining mind you. It's actually really nice. Sleeping has been great. I wake up about every 2 hours to either roll over or pee but I fall back asleep in about 20 min so it doesn't bother me. The mornings are the nicest. I fall back asleep when my sweet Nate leans over & give me a snuggle or a kiss when he leaves for work & I curl back up into bliss. Seriously why does it always feel so much better to sleep in the morning than at night????? AHHH sweet marvelous sleepy mornings. I don't have much longer so I am enjoying them with all my heart.

Getting really excited about traveling to Florida in a few weeks. I can't wait to see Nate's mom & step dad- who we have not seen since the summer. Also can't wait to dig my belly holes & lay face down on a beach!!!!!!!!! I know it won't be that warm but the sun & humidity is going to feel like heaven!!!! I love to travel & it's probably our last chance for a little while.

Picture time!!!!!! It actually looks like winter here. Because winter came & visited bloomington for the total of one week. it's now gone again & 55 degrees today. lol. It was AMAZING though. I love it all!

Hijacked

HELP- I've been official hijacked by some sort of alien. I've heard scientifically they say babies in the womb are the perfect parasite! They take everything first ( of course I would want to give my cutie everything first anyways... but yeah no choice here)

He has taken over my body & not just my uterus. He took my belly, my ribs are covered in a healthy layer of fat, my thighs have discovered cellulite, my jaw line... yeah it's non existent these days- think it's hiding out in my neck, my arms have decided jiggling is in style & my fingers don't want to fit my ring anymore... I still shove it on there daily telling myself it will somehow come off at night... does anyone have a spare diamond around for me to borrow? Size 8... haha yes I did wear a size 6- He's taken my weight & expanded it. I'm about 25 lbs heavier & it's never been so hard to walk up the steps! lol. Something happened to my back about 4 weeks back & I think I'll survive? It's just like the right rib is shoved into my spinal cord??? HURTS SO FREAKING BAD ALL THE TIME! Laying down helps at night so I long for that all day. Lucky me that I work at home & when the pain gets too bad I can always lay down!

He has taken my health. Yes- I've been sick since thanksgiving. I think there was a week in there somewhere when I started to feel alright.... It's mainly just cold & sinsus. I'm building his immune system for postpartum. He took my brain about 5 weeks ago. I started wondering what I was getting in the refrigerator for after the 9th time opening the door & staring into the abis. It takes 5x as long to do anything because I feel REALLY stupid these days & I'm forgetful. I can't even remember human english words? I had to ask Karen what the stand for my tv was called. HMMM a TV stand... lol. I just kept thinking there had to be a name for it....  haha It's really all hilarious. I'm glad I have a sense of humor cause I need it to to survive.

He has not yet taken my eyesight ( I hear sometimes it can get worse) I'll give it to him if he wants it... lol. He can see now though! Isn't that amazing??????? Time for the flashlight games.  He hasn't taken my feet but I here they will swell soon too. Also heard they can grow a size?????? Gosh they are already big enough I'll be great at swimming.. my own personal flippers.

So as my body changes & adjusts to this hijacking I laugh, eat, cry, & lean on my Nate for encouragement ( which he is really good at)

With all the change & hitting 25 weeks I knew it was time to do maternity photos so Nate & I headed out on adventure. I know it's January... but yeah no snow! 60 & sunny! I really wanted to wait until there was snow for these but I'm just like GIANT already so it needed to happen. Besides we leave for Florida in 3 weeks & we are doing more down there so I needed to spread them out a bit! So enjoy Nate's fantastic photography!!!!!!

Seriously I can't rave enough of how great a job he did. Only he could take this planet & turn it into something beautiful! I really did feel pretty again after taking these & thanks to everyone on facebook for the sweet & encouraging comments.

I will survive & have a super healthy baby in my arms to cuddle & nibble & love soon!!!!!!!!!!!

He Who Has Ears to Hear... let him eat corn

Yup Baby B is the size of an Ear of Corn this week (at least he should be) lol. 23 weeks & growing.....

AND my am I ever growing???????? Holy COW! I really don't have any idea how this baby can get any bigger. I'm looking at all these size charts & I'm looking more like 32 weeks pregnant not just 23. I think my baby has growth dyslexia... hahaha. 23 not 32 baby b!

My mom looked at my belly today and said "Gosh you are as big as I was when I had you guys" Steph keeps insisting on calling my baby massive, and everyone I meet gawks when I say I'm only 23 weeks. WHAT AM I IN FOR? I am genuinely hoping this baby just didn't get the memo that most of the weight comes in the end & he did it backwards. I don't see how it's possible that Nate & I could have a big baby but... I just keep telling myself it doesn't really matter how fat the baby is as long as it's head & shoulders are normal sized. hahah
Also I really think it's because I'm all out front. I have a 1.5 inch long waist & when I lay down my rib touches my hip bone... I mean most ladies have a longer waist RIGHT. I'm just really short & little so I show a lot & early.

I'm on track as far as weight gain goes so there is nothing abnormal about how much I weigh at this point I think the belly is super cute but it is REALLY uncomfortable at this point & i'm not sure how I'm gonna survive it getting twice or 3x as big???? EEEEk

Anyways feeling the stretching, aches, and pains & Nate got me a gym pass for the year as my christmas gift! I was really wanting a way to exercise & feeling depressed that it was winter, cold & i'm in pain pretty much all the time. So we went last night & signed up & he went swimming with me!!!! AHHHHHH life is sweet! I biked 3 miles, swam for an hour, and dipped my feeties into the hot tub! WONDERFUL! MARVELOUS! Swimming really is the best when you are pregnant cause you feel so weightless!!! It's all I can think about...

maybe I should go again tonight??? mmmmmmmmmm

So here is the 23 week massive baby belly (which I happen to think looks SUPER cute!)

Nightmare Before Christmas

Christmas is here & I'm losing grip on reality!
No seriously!!! What is with the INSANE dreams? I mean I've always had pretty vivid  & often weird dreams but now they are just bizarre, non-stop pretty sure I'm not gonna know reality anymore??? I wake up about 3-4 times a night to go pee & I remember EVERY dream, detail by detail. Sometimes I wake up more just screaming to get out of the dream. Poor Nate has to comfort me & assure me it's not real. I"M LOSING GRIP PEOPLE!

Now the dreams aren't all bad, & I wont' tell  you the majority of them....but there are a few ok to share but oddly bizarre ones I must indulge....

like the time I had the baby but it was a chiwawa dog/ squirrel baby that climbed out of my stomach c-section style while standing in my parents room. I panicked that it was too early for the baby to arrive while attempting to stuff thus said creature back into my stomach. Then I realized that it was breathing just fine so everything must be alright.

Then there are the dreams when I realize I'm dreaming so I should have fun & fly but then someone kills me so I get mad that they are gonna wake me up that way. Those rock except eventually somehow I get woken up not long after I find out It's a dream. SAD

Some dreams are good! Like the one when I had three little girls (they were Olive & Sabrina & I guessed what I thought my little Isabella at the time around 5 years old) & we were playing a fun little game. I was sitting on a beautiful mountain cliff & they were running circles around me giggling. I had to try to grab them as they ran by & if I caught them I would tickle them & nibble on their little chunky elbow & they would laugh & then I'd let me go & they would keep doing this. I woke up so sad that I didn't have three little cute girls. lol.

Oh then of course are the dreams that REALLY make me feel like I'm losing it. Apparently it's called lucid dreaming when everything was the exact same as reality but just off a little. Like I was dreaming that I was in bed ( right were I was) but the door to the closest was open (which is wasn't) and there were REALLy scary noises coming from in there & the door to the room was closed ( which is wasn't) & I woke myself up screaming for Nate to see what was in the closet. When I woke up everything was the EXACT same as my dream except the closet door was closed & the room door was open? Opposite of the dream. I was so scared & confused that I made Nate switch me sides so I wasn't by the door anymore. hahahah

CRAZY HORMONES = CRAZY DREAMS

So here I am with another nightmare before christmas & wishing it was a little more Tim Burton cartoonish.

Merry christmas hormones!

See My PAPAYA BABY!

22 weeks!!!!!!!! So happy baby is still inside my belly. My friend just had her sweetie premature at 27 weeks & when I saw the first photo on Facebook announcing her little girl had arrived ... well I started to panic then cry then desperately research survival rates at 27 weeks. Good news our society is pretty much AMAZING. Humans are genius. 27 weeks.. no biggie!!!!!!! She's gonna be ok! Either way I'm still praying up a storm for her. She's so precious & little and adorable. With a miraculous God & high tech hospitals these days the earliest survival of a preemie was 21 weeks. But still I want this guy to hang around in my womb till at least 36 weeks. My friend was only several weeks in front of me & so now every time I feel a pain or something weird down there I just FREAK out. It's weird how when you are pregnant you are so aware of anyone else who is also pregnant or has new little babies. Sensory overload. Anywhos if everyone out there reading would say a prayer for little Annabelle (little 27 week cutie) I'd really appreciate it. She's a beautiful little miracle. Pray for her health & growth & for her mama's strength!

So here I am at 22 weeks praying daily for my little man to stay inside the claustrophobic womb inside my belly.

I would like to announce how cute I am....
seeeeeee!!!!!

although I do have that funny little line showing up on my belly... weirdness...

What is a Spaghetti Squash? That doesn't sound appealing.

Here we are 21 weeks gone! I can't believe it. Past the halfway mark & kicking. Literally. My little man is kickin up a storm. I'm loving it! Also thankful that I'm FINALLY not sick anymore! A headcold lasts about 3 weeks when you are pregnant...

I've been really thinking about all the things that I'm glad I never knew about pregnancy before I got prego... or I might have NOT done it... lol. But I'm counting on the benefits to outweigh the discomfort.

I've been thinking this past week about my baby's heathy & praying for it quite a bit. Physically everything looks good via sonogram but there is no way to know mental & internal malfunctioning. Well I mean there are tests... but I don't think a test seems healthy for me. I mean it's not like I'm going to abort my sweetie if he's got downs so whats the point of worrying? NONE. So I opted out of the test.

It's funny how in life we worry about things & stress about them, and pray about them & then when everything turns out perfect we forget about it all in like 2 weeks & find something new to complain & be brokenhearted about. Life's just like that. So I've decided when I get my healthy baby in my arms I'm making a BIG banner that reads :
I am SO thankful for my healthy baby.

I'm gonna hang it where I see it daily & remember the journey that I am currently on. Looking forward to that! Maybe If I'm lucky I'll also forget about all the vomiting.. cause I'm gonna get a little girl someday... so i'll have to go through this at least one more time. If the next one is a boy I'm tying my tubes & buying myself an adorable asian baby with pigtails.

There is a what in there? a spaghetti squash???? WHAT IS THAT????????

BLAH SICK

Oh why did I have to get a cold?????? Seriously your immune system shuts partly down when you are pregnant so that your system doesn't attach your baby? That seems really so unfair!! I mean shouldn't you get it easy when  your already working so hard????????? CMMMMON!!!!!!

It's ok it's really not hat bad. It's just a cold that I caught on tuesday. Not the flue or anything so I'm grateful for that. Hot showers & baths work really well for the stuffyness. I really really really could use a humidifier. Investment? I think so.

Our Little Banana Monkey | Halfway There Living On A Prayer

20 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!

That is halfway to beautiful baby B in my arms!!!!! I can't freaking wait! Well really I can. lol. It's fun being pregnant now. Not to mention how incredibly fun it is to feel him move his little body around in my belly. Then I get to walk around all proud, looking incredibly cute with a creepy popped belly button & a round display. I am really liking this now! Now I just need more strangers to touch my belly. No seriously. I love it! It's a miracle inside me & I'm proud. Maybe not any strange men but friends & random women are more than welcome! lol. CELEBRATE!

I do have a lot more round ligament pains with week. Those are the leg cramp like feelings throughout the belly. OUCH! I still feel like gagging on my snot that is creeping halfway down  the back of my throat every night. I keep food near to keep my throat clear when I wake up. This is why we gain so much weight serioulsy. If the only way you could keep yourself from convulsing & vomiting snot was eating ... when then you would too ! On the flip side I brush my teeth like 5 times a day & 3 times a night now to get rid of the nasty taste that lingers in my mouth constantly. At least I'll come out of this pregnancy with REALLY healthy teeth. lol.

I made a little layout of images from this week to display the celebratory halfway there mark.

We get to start birthing & pregnancy classes with week with our Doula- Jessica Poppe & our friends Abby & Chuck who are due a little while after us. I'm really looking forward to this. Now that I am pretty confident that I'll get to actually own a baby... lol. I am excited to learn & educate myself further on the birthing process & how to baby proof this house. Speaking of baby proofing I thought I should post a few photos of our nice clean house as we now know it. Just in case baby wrecks it... lol. I am trying to convince myself that it will remain clean. Although it will not remain as we see it now. We will have to put up corner bumpers, hide all glass objects, hide tv cords, raise curtains, etc...

BOY OH BOY Mustaches are cool & cakes are cakes

Whatdoyouknow??????????? BOY OH BOY!
I was so sure baby was a girl that I basically fell apart upon finding thus news. here is the soft version of my pregnant emotional hyperdrive...

CANDY SHOP EXCITEMENT
Thursday morning held so much excitement for me that I could barely sleep on Wednesday! HOW EXCITING!!!!!!! Nate took a half day so we could celebrate. Honestly I was overjoyed imaging the voice "its a girl!" that didn't even really consider it's a boy.. lol. I mean I was already basically calling "her" Bella. haha

Nate & I were like two children in a candy shop when the ultrasound technician walked in. I was giggling and Nate was smiling from cheek to cheek. "Do you guys want to know the sex today?" She asked. We both are wildly grinning & bouncing around the room... "oh yes yes yes we totally want to KNOW!" The tech is laughing at us by this point.

She started the exam & everything was going great. My first question was: Is it healthy???? Is it cute???? Is every ok? Does it have a spine????????Does it's head look normal? Does it still look like a monkey????? I blurted out like 20 questions in about 20 seconds. hahaha

Baby was facing the wrong way and suddenly Nate exclaims "WOW!" as I felt it scoot it's little belly around! The tech goes... "well I can see! Wanna know or do you want to guess!!!!!" Nate shouts out: "It's a BOY?!? " super confident as it was VERY noticeable, no mistaking that giant area between the legs.

SURPRISE/SHOCK
Nate said my face went from that thankful for a healthy baby grin to shock in 1.6 seconds. I was so happy it had a spine with the still fresh excitement of finding out the sex, that I actually didn't know what to feel as my heart quivered.... I really REALLY thought I was having a girl! I guess I really wanted a girl deep down but didn't really know how bad it was rooted. I still didn't.

The tech left the room & my fav nurse came in to said congrats! We talked logistics for a min or two. I was healthy, baby was healthy, I was on track with weight gain, etc... All good good good things. This is why I have NO IDEA why I was reduced to tears at one look at Nate once she left the room. I completely melted. It's really the silliest thing ever. I mean someone tells you that your baby is so healthy & you are healthy (especially when at one point you thought no way you'd ever get through the miscarriage stage & actually get to have a life inside you) then you are crying in utter despair??????? SERIOUSLY?????? who can say : pregnancy hormones?????
My midwife walked in (much sooner than I thought) and caught me in my distress. Feeling so GUILTY & ashamed of crying I attempted to pull myself together. My midwife is SOOO sweet that she totally assured me that she had to try 4 times to get a girl. lol.

So after the doctor I did pretty well with the news although feeling pretty sad about the lack of cute baby clothes, getting peed on, not getting to play dress up & match the baby until she is 15 obsession.... I was already dreading trucks, footballs, and other boring & equally annoying stereotypes I had in head.

FUN TIMES
Nate & I headed home in attempts to celebrate our surprise. Nate was so encouraging & I had already made plans to mustache it up if it was a boy & pigtail it out if a girl. So that was actually really exciting to whip out the mustache wine cork that Libby had given us & get our picture on! That was very fun!

After photo time Nate took me shopping to the mall to buy our first baby boy clothes to get more excited. BAD idea... lol. We went to the gap because they have such cute stuff without too many cheesy decals or tacky wording all over them.... but sadly the boy section was like the size of my closet while the girl section encompassed an entire half of the store!!!!!! Then of course I'm longing staring at the tootoo's & giving up my dreams for a little ballerina in a pink skirt.... Still we found a REALLY cute onsie with a polar bear wearing a scarf & saying brrrrr... hahahaha Then another one with a penguin listening to headphones on an iceberg. We also thought there was a ufo in the background... this was hilarious & bought it just cause that was so ridiculous...just to realize in 30 minutes that it was an igloo not a ufo obviously hahahahha.

CAKES ARE CAKES
Next stop was the surprise I had been working on for my parents that week. It was their 35th anniversary this week & my mom wanted to take my dad out to dinner as a fun surprise. So I made reservations & she tricked my dad into coming into town.

After two 30 min phone calls describing exactly what I wanted...I had ordered a gender reveal cake as a surprise to my parents. I wanted a two layer mini cake that looked like an anniversary cake on the outside but the inside held my little secret! I would have them cut it open for desert & find bright blue or bring pink frosting on the inside frosting layer then be like "surprise its a boy or its a girl!!!!!!" . I had been looking forward to this dinner for weeks!!!!!!!

This was really the straw that broke the camels back.... the bakery people were completely lacking in common sense because after those 2 phone calls describing exactly what I wanted, they still did it completely WRONG! How can you mess that up??????

They made a plain ol one layer round cake with sloppy handwriting in blue icing saying happy 35th anniversary??????? That is absolutely NOT what I ordered. How is there a surprise when you cut it open??????????? I actually started crying in front of the lady...barely managing to mutter "it's all wrong I don't' want that" while running out of the store.  When I got to the car I TOTALLY-completely-shamefully lost my mind. I sobbed the entire way to the restaurant blaming God for caring for me so little that he couldn't even get my cake right.

Seriously I was reduced to childlike understanding & anger. I had to have Nate pray for me by the time we got there cause I was in such a bad place. Still the whole time imaging this little boy wearing ugly football sweaters 3 times too big for him while he peed on my face....

By the time we walked in to tell my parents, (I avoided eye contact since mine were bloodshot & dripping with mascara.) I started crying so hard when I tried to tell them about the failed cake that Nate had to tell them it was a boy! My dad started laughing so hard saying he knew from the second he saw my face while my mom sympathetically looked at my downcast face.

HUMANS ARE HUMAN
Really the worst part was that I felt so much shame for being so upset about something so simple as a failed cake & my healthy beautiful baby having a penis. But that is our raw humanity is it not? Our childlike fragile hearts broken when our hope is set in the wrong place. It took me one day, one night & half morning, several conversations with trusted friends, reading truth about where my hope is set & putting to death my straying heart & flesh to see things in a semi healthy manner.

But here I am a few days later, all my tears dried, completely in love with & excited about our little man! I've mostly corrected my thinking, sobbed out my little girl heart, bought some cute boy clothes, & starting loving my mini Nate.... yes I will match them constantly..... or as much as I'm allowed... teehee

Love you my little man!!!!!!!!!

Baby Loves Twilight

WEEEEEEE I got my hope for movement sooner than I expected! At first the movement felt like little muscle spasms last week (which I described in my last post) but today I got some serious joy!

This week I wrapped up my last photo session of 2011. In Illinois when you register your small business they give you a 5 year license to operate your business. You have to pay taxes & such then at the end of every year you must report your income & such.
Well at the end of those 5 years you must show a profit 3 out of those 5 years to remain an official business. If you dont' make profit then the government considers your "business" just a hobby & you can't collect business identification & licensing in the state.
So I've been watching my spending & investments & working my butt off in the last 3 years with Fully Alive Photography. With lots of prayers & good management skills - blessed I am!!!! I made a profit all three consecutive years so far no matter how small. So even if I crash & burn in 2012 & 2013 I still am licensed!!!!!!!! I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's something to be very happy about since not many people make it in this tough economy.

So Nate took me out to celebrate. Dinner & move of my choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I choose the new Twilight movie.... because I'm a total sucker for cheesy. The first movie we went to since I was pregnant & BOY DID BABY LOVE IT! He/She starting REALLY kicking! I think I felt an entire arm wrangle itself across my belly as soon as the roaring sound bounded around the theatre! HOW COOOOOOLLLLL!

Baby loves mama & is excited to hear twilight. I couldn't stop thinking about how ironic it was that I might have a little Bella in my belly.

Gobble Gobble GOOOOOO

THANKSGIVING PEOPLE! I have a LOT to be thankful for this year! BOUNCY BABY! I started feeling movement!!!!! I think it might be the COOLEST thing i've ever expierienced in my life! NEATO. I feel like brian regan is in my back of my head saying " lets here some chatter out there.... wow they're communicating!!!!!!!!" Baby is communicating with mama this week! It's like i've been awakened to the fact that there really is a LIFE in there! Until now it was all puking mono & the joy of energy mostly it just felt like I had recovered from a terrible disease. Now it's like ... oh ok I'm pregnant & I'm not gonna die!

The movement has always been described to me as a gas bubble or butterflies but honestly it feels much more like those funny little muscle spams you have in your leg sometimes. Except those are always centralized... like they stay in one place.. this one moved all over my belly! spasm twitch spasm! wonderful feeling!!! Can't wait for more!

Anyways we had ourselves a fantastic holiday filled with dear wonderful family & delicious munchies! REally the best thanksgiving EVER followed up by christmas decore. Here's to celebrating & being thankful that I don't have to stick my head near the toilet anymore... YAY

Also here is to 19 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can it be a little large mango?

So 18 weeks... supposedly baby is a large mango... but then it also says it's a small mango???? SERIOUSLY PEOPLE?

Feeling pretty good these days! Still thankful daily that the vomit season is OVER! Rocked the suburbs this weekend. Wen to visit our very own Christopher Robin! It was great fun. I even had enough energy to do my first try at the mall since pregnancy. I actually made it through two WHOLE stores before I about died from exhaustion & dehydration. HAHAHAH there are sad times people but also rocking times. Well next week is looking exciting!!!! We get to celebrate thanksgiving! and I"M HOSTING! CAN"T WAIT! BABY WANTS TURKEY!

I don't even know what a turnip looks like!

So 17 weeks! The size of a turnip. I don't even know what that looks like. lol.

AJ took some photos of me the other day... so here is my weekly shot I suppose! I really am getting very bad at staying on track these days.

Baby might need glasses too... lol

The sweetness of an Avocado

WOW! DO I feel better or what??? Thank you Jesus Thank you Jesus Thank you Jesus Thank you Jesus. Seriously after pleading with God for over 10 weeks to stop the sick it's here! I feel pretty great. Mildly tired still & some really bad migraines kicking in. The constant need to devour everything edible in sight. The irritable urge to dance & sing ( not that my babe can hear my voice!) Also bed time has moved to 9pm... I can't make it past that these days without feeling like crying in a heap on the floor.

I'm feeling pretty happy about this all now. I feel like to worst is over. Honestly I'm not scared of delivery at all, just excited not to be sick. I'm not worried or anxious I dont' think I can be when I'm so overjoyed with feeling human again. This vampire baby is actually maybe human.. lol.

In feeling better we celebrated with taking photos. Here are a few!

I can tell it's bigger!!! wow

Orange You Glad You Are Recovering?

Week 15 brought some much needed rest & relief. Finally feeling well enough to travel & desperate with a little break I had to see my grandparents & meet Sam & Libby's baby Olive... I left for Nebraska. Honestly that was probably a little too soon. I was pretty miserable by the time I got there & greeted them with tears... haha. I called Nate crying & saying I wished I was in my bed cuddling with him. But it was really fantastic to meet Olive! We did some family photos & I asked Libs to get my weekly shot that I had missed for weeks already.

I can't tell if it's gotten a lot bigger or not? Anyways I didn't throw up this week & just felt VERY exhausted & nauseous. I was very glad to come home & be in bed.

Lemonade Tilapia

SO I missed posting for 14 & 15. I'm getting very bad at this... lol. Well I'll fix it with some updates from each.

Week 14 was rough. I thought I was getting better at the fall retreat but surely enough that Sunday led to more nausea & vomitting. UGGGG>

Then I lost all my Tilapia one night that week as well. WORST EVER> Stop reading if you have a weak stomach....

the story goes....We had delicious baked lemon pepper tilapia on night for dinner. I hadn't felt very good all day but the meal was wonderful for at least 4 hours... apparently it didn't feel like digesting itself and I was was laying down for bed I lost it all. VIOLENTLY again... running to the bathroom in panic I lost all the fish. It was chunky again because someone it just gets chewed up but doesn't digest when you're pregnant or something. hahah. Nate comes running up to save me but all I ended up doing was filling up the sink & splashing fish vomit in my eye & nates face. It was too full the sink couldn't handle it & was filling up quick. I started to panic more as I turned around & got to the toilet. SICK. I hate puking over toilets it's terrible. So then to the shower. It really was terrifying I felt like Ron on harry potter when his slug curse to Malfoy backfires on him & he can't stop puking slugs. I started crying & freaking out but it wouldn't stop. Just kept coming up. I have no idea where all the fish came from but I will NEVER EAT TILAPIA again. EVER.

so I went to bed with desperate attempts to eat something else to get rid of the rank fishy stomach acid coming back up in burps and every breath. with no avail.... wouldn't go away. The next day was bad but gladly that was the last REAL vomit I would have in quite a while.

So there is week 14. No photo.... I was too miserable.

Lucky 13 | Safety Dance

Week 13 was yucky but fun because we hit the safely zone. I wanted to post the photo from that week even though it was all over Facebook with hundreds of likes & comments.

Just Peachy

Sorry for the delay in posting!!! The sickness overcame me... lol.

BUTTT happy news on the baby front.....
I have not thrown up since Monday!!!!!! WOW it's Thursday ps....
So super excited! I am definitely getting better. I wasn't sure there for awhile because I thought I was getting better last week & I had some regression down the toilet, kitchen sink, and fall retreat parking lot... lol.

Thanks so Steph I discovered Photo Booth on my computer so here is a quick shot while you are waiting for week 13's shot!

Also on happy news time... I am officially starting my second trimester tomorrow!!!!!! OH HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!! This means I am beginning my 14th week & my miscarriage chances go down to 1% this are suppose to uphill from here & I know they are going to be!

Thank you so all my friends & family that helped me get through those past 9 weeks of horror. I am so sorry that I was so down in the dumps it just was almost impossible to be anything but survival mode.
I am now public basically as my belly is hanging out all over the place these days. I will make some sort of fun announcement on facebook this weekend so after that it's a free for all. Thanks for being so secretive!

Also..... so many also's.. it's been too long.. teehhee
I started cravings today seriously!!!! I had like 10 dreams last night about thai yellow curry. I MUST HAVE IT! So Nate is the best hubby EVERY and he is on his way to pick up from the thai house my fav yellow curry ever!!!! I"M SO EXCITED I AM SALIVATING RIGHT NOW! YUMYUMYUMYUMYUM. It's going to be two great food days because my dad is coming over for homemade pizza bread tonight & tomorrow Nate & I are going out to our fav little italian coffeeshop to get authentic italian margarita pizza's for lunch, just to celebrate getting through the first tri safetly!

Also this last weekend we went on the Cornerstone Fall Retreat (annual tradition for me running 9 years now!) and the speaker was reading out of Psalms about being known & created in your mothers womb & I started bawling..... so here is to officially embracing motherhood & the joys of hormonal insanity!

Lime Plum & Peach

We might as well lump weeks 10-11-12 all together.... lol. I've been really too sick to do photos & update. I've actually been too sick to do anything other than vomit & lay on the floor & beg God for a merciful death from this decease... haha. I love being to melodramatic... lolz.

but would you just LOOK AT IT????????

I've sadly not gotten any better since stopping the pills on wednesday. But optimistically it's only been 4 days synthetic hormone free & my body probably has plenty of it's own progesterone pulsing though it's veins... I'm giving it a full week to get better before I derail into tears. But for now I'm chewing some gum & keeping far away from the pre-natals until the vomiting commences. This is what I have been looking like lately with all that. And how Nate feels too!

So let's all play a guessing a game at when I'm actually due. The nurse says to keep my original due date which is April 16th & that puts me at 12 weeks today! Which I really like the sound of. But my sonogram dated me at a later date of April 20th. That puts me at 12 weeks on thursday. I don't think I really like the idea of 4/20 honestly. I mean drugs are not cool anymore & now that I'm wise & old I know they can be used correctly for medical uses.... but still the whole 4/20 thing is for stoners. I don't want my baby to be a useless stoner... also I just found out thanks to Rachelle that it's Hitlers birthday... I don't want that future for my babe either! LOL. But my midwife thinks we should go with that date just because it gives my body an extra 4 days to do it's thing before any doctors get crazy and say lets get that baby out... it's late!

So I'm saying April 16th until 13 weeks hits for mental reasons, then I'll switch to the 20th & consider the only meaning Earth Day.

Good compromise?

So today I am 12 weeks!!!! One more week until the world will know my secret... everyone around me at this point knows because my belly is ginormous for my normal body type & it's screaming LOOK AT ME I"M A BABY !!!!! So say hello to my little peach today!

Also Stephy's birthday present arrived today & I got my first little baby thing. Honestly I have no clue what it is... LOL. But I'm incredibly grateful! The boxes from Japan are always loaded with amazing fun!

Galloping Horses- the best sound in the world

I couldn't have had a better day (unless maybe if I didn't throw up before I even ate anything today...lol). I awoke to the most beautifull flowers being delievered! An amazingly gorgeous orchid! My fav flower in the world! I told the old gentleman that brought them "Gosh someone else must have figured out I'm pregnant" that is what I thought too! But NO they are from Stephanie send with love all the way across the blue ocean from Japan!!!! WOW what a friend!!! She remember today was the day I hit 11 weeks & would get to go hopefully hear baby's battaglia first heartbeat! And maybe get to stop the death pills of progesterone.WOW! Thanks stephy that was the sweetest thing ever... you are a way better friend that me... LOL. I dont' know if I could even navigate the internet well enough to order flowers for you in Japan... hahaha . I was so inspired that I made whole grain delicious blueberry muffins. The kind my grandma always makes on christmas! YUMYUMYUM.

So today Nate took off work after lunch with claims to a doctors appointment. We went & got some delicious reality bites for lunch. Best. Food. Ever! Brushetta, yummus hummus, and nachos! So good!
Then we headed on over to my midwife appointment!

I was pretty nervous hoping that my baby was still alive in there. And hoping my midwife would let me stop the death pills of sick.  She started with the handheld doppler & took what felt like forever to my anxious heart. I just layed there praying " dear lord PLEASE let my baby be alive! PLEASE! I want it ! I want It!" but alas nothing. :( So then she said you might have a tilted uterus... ??? She asked if I had low back pain and I'm like " Yes ALWAYS, it's the story of my life" So we went to the sonogram room & did a neat kind of on the belly sonogram. The lady in there kept saying... wow it's really back there! LOL. Uggg I'm like where is my baby?????????? And then she found him/her snuggled back hiding all deep in the caverns of my strange body. WOW it's got a HEAD! I swear it's smiling! I can see the little eye, ear, nose, and mouth and It totally SMILING! Nate says I'm mamma crazy but I honest to goodness can see that little smile! ANd they found the heartbeat! and when I heard those galloping little horsy beats across the screen my heart lifted in joy! Thank you Jesus my baby lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We also asked about the due date because they gave me three different dates last time. Technically speaking I'm 11 weeks 4 days. I'm due April 16th. Kari's Birthday! But when they did a measurement chart dating for better accuracy they dated me at just 11 weeks. That due date is April 20th. Molly's N's Birthday! So either way this baby is determined to show up on one of my bridesmaids birthdays.
The doctor wanted to just keep April 16th but my midwife advised we do the April 20th so there is less pressure for getting the baby out if it wants to stay put a few extra days. So we choose April 20th! Earth Day. Marijuana Day. Pot smoking time... all that insanity! buttttt Molly's Birthday. I think I will call Molly today & tell her the good news.

So we will really try to take photos tonight when nate gets home for the 11 weeks. Sorry I missed 10 weeks. I couldn't handle it.

 Until then!!!!!!!!!

Applesauce Down. Applesauce Up.

Last night... lol. I was laying in bed attempting to sleep on my back. Usually the only position I don't feel super naseous. Well almost asleep I decided it would be a good idea to turn to my side for some good rest. NOT A GOOD IDEA. Immediately projectile vomiting commenced. Twice! I ran to the bathroom keeping my mouth shut with all the throw up in there. Gagging I couldn't make it & I spewed my applesauce all over the counter & sink. I think I missed the floor. AGGGGGG. SO DISGUSTING! Nate had to come clean me up. haha . Then he got me a Tupperware to keep next to the bed. HAHAHA>

To top it off I got up today around noon & headed downstairs to make myself some french toast with cinnamon ( suppose to help with the nausea) weirdest thing... i'm usually never bad in the mornings. I'm always feeling exceptionally good until the afternoon. I decided to have a nice two drinks of fresh OJ while cooking. Welp bad idea because I started violently ( I seriously mean violently) vomiting that back up in the kitchen sink until my eyes were teared up & dripping. YUCK YUCK YUCK. lol Honestly I've thrown up so much in the last 3 days that I am really dehydrated. So after calling my midwife & saying I can't last another two weeks on this progesterone... she's taking me off this thursday at my appointment. We will do a checkup to see how I'm physically doing ( i've lost some weight now) & tell me (hopefully) I can stop taking it. I'll be 11 weeks that day so it should be safe enough.
Please everyone pray I can go off this hormone & my baby will stick around for these last 2.5 weeks until the second trimester of heaven. Also please pray that I'll stop vomitting so I can stay sane & hydrated.

but on the plus side it's so incredibly bad that it's almost comical around our house. spew here spew there. lol.

I'll get photos up soon. Just can't handle it yet.

I want to die...

After 5 full weeks of suffering & misery I have come to the conclusion that no one can ever warn you how absolutely terribly being pregnant in the first trimester really is.. you apparently just have to discover the suck yourself.  UGGGG ULLLL SO SICK. I can't deal with life. The bella band isn't really doing anything so I just gave up on it. I need to eat all the time but yet I still throw up, still have a headache, still have the WORST taste ever between food. My shoulders & neck are in so much pain from gagging & dry heaving & vomiting.  Really having a hard time hnestly. Lots of crying on the floor & begging God for mercy these last few weeks with NO relief. I'm falling really far behind on my life. My job is suffering. I just can't edit. I can't look at this screen. I've skipping two weeks of posting just because I can't handle the computer screen without a worse headache and more nausea....
Someone PLEASE SAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!

Nate is doing everything he can but really nothing works. He is now up to the shopping, cleaning, & half cooking on top of his job. I really only contribute one meal a day to this sad family. Then I reward him with crying & wining & gagging.

Sorry this post is such a downer but I really can't handle life right now.

How Michelle Saved My Baby's Life

So I'm so sick I could just die.

I told Nate today I was tempted to stop taking the progesterone & just let the baby go if it wouldn't stick around with out it. I said "it's me or the baby".
(sounds horrid I KNOW but of course I was just kidding....)

but anyways Michelle brought me her BellaBand this afternoon. It's a band placed on the wrist with an electric current that is suppose to suppress nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. I put it on & realized by about 5pm I wasn't gagging anymore! I actually stopped while it was on. I needed it pretty strong like 4 out of 5 but it was good.

welp until 6:00 rolled around and the batteries died. LOL. I tried to make it through home group with out it & I threw up in the street on the way to the car.

Nate is at wal-mart getting me new batteries right now. HAHAHAHAHHA

Her Olive My Olive

Isn't it really cool that I have an Olive this week too? Libby has an Olive who is one month old & I have a little Olive sized baby in my belly! One inch long this week & it looks like some sort of weird alien manatee.... lol. GRADUATION TIME! My baby to be is now graduated from Embryo to Fetus this week! I have a little feeble fetus! LOL.

We hit 8 weeks on Friday I think. (or maybe I hit 9 weeks today... I don't know) I was too sick to do photos so we just did them today. My belly looks SOOOO weird! WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD!

Here you go enjoy the weirdness....

Also Nate wanted to share how he is feeling this week with this lovely expression:

ACCOMPLISHED!

After weeks of being to sick exhausted & miserable to even get in the car to go to the grocery store....Today I accomplished grocery shopping! I didn't even spit up my lunch while doing it! It took about twice as long as normal to focus the breathing & gag reflex. LOL. But I DID IT!!!!! WOWZA! I'm a mighty woman!! Here me ROAR!

OOOOOPPPPSSSSS

OOOOOPS today Libby added me to the group Preggers on facebook. We thought it was a private secret group. Meaning no one would see I was in it & no one would know I was pregnant!!!! Except Stephy & Libby cause it was their old group to talk when they were pregnant together.

Low & behold within 3 minutes of joining & posting some links on thus said page I had over 5 comments & several texts about news I needed to share... LOL

AHHHHHHHHH so I deleted comments quickly messaged some people lies about how i was just trying to follow stephy & libby's news & told some of those close people the truth. I also unjoined the group ASAP in hopes it would delete all evidence. LOL. Bad idea. I should have deleted my comments from the group before I deleted the group. Because then all my comments still remained with no way to delete them.

So I called Libby in a panic! ASK ME TO JOIN AGAIN! I gotta delete my comments. Then make the group private.... LOL.

So after doing that I thought I might be safe... but just in case I left the group again until I hit that safety zone of 12 weeks.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH MAJOR OOOPS!

THE UNCONTROLLABLE VOMITTING HAS COMMENCED....

Up until this point (the last 2.5 weeks of being deathly ill) I've done everything possible to avoid throwing up. but tonight the battle was lost. it came up involuntarily. no stopping it..... I was laying in bed feeling little utter death & I threw up. Holding it in my mouth with a panicked run to the bathroom to get the rest up.

so sad.
Nate lovingly followed my panicked run feeling pity for my sad state, then added excitedly... I"LL GET THE CAMERA!!!!!!!

UGGGGGGG

hahahahhahahaha but not really.....

SONOGRAM Set Back

Today I had my first SONOGRAM!

SAY HIIIIIIIIIIII NOOOOOO TWINS!!!!!! Just one little cutie. THANK YOU JESUS! I don't think I could handle that! LOL.

All is well apparently. Except that they dated my little tiny raspberry and said he/she's still a blueberry!!!!!!! ARGGGGG meaning that I'm back to being only 6 weeks 6 days pregnant. Instead of 7 Weeks 3 Days. That makes me sad sad sad. So tomorrow I am 7 weeks. ( I thought I was gonna be 8 weeks on Sunday)

Not so fun. Meaning that I get the pleasure of being sick for an extra week... UGGGGGG.

Raspberries Are Delicious

Imagine you got really drunk, woke up far to early the next morning, jumped in the backseat of a car, & got spun around for approximately 3 hours.... then were asked to keep your sanity....

Yeah morning sickness apparently. Except it's all day every day. UGGGGGG
Stephanie was right... THIS SUCKS! I dont' want it! GO AWAY.

Libby reminded me today the sicker I felt the better it was for my baby. Soooo I'll try to bear it... but don't ask me to grin.

I hate to think that this lasts for up to 13 weeks. I can't handle it anymore let alone another 5 weeks.

Our Little Blueberry

oompaloompa My baby is the size of a Blueberry!!!! Hello week 6! Oh boy do I have to pee!

Doctor called & said my progesterone was low. So I was gonna have to go on prometrium. UGGGG. But if it saves my baby, I'll do anything :)

Keeping our little secret is hard too. We told a select few friends & my parents the end of this week but don't want to tell other or the world until we are past the 13 week stage. Apparently miscarriage goest down to 1% after that ! I can't wait!

We started our stop motion animation photo shoot the end of week 5. So every week we will appear live & then collage them all together at the end! It's gonna be sweet sauce!!!!!!!!

Once it's done we'll post them. For now here is one for kicks.

Oh Sweet Pea, won't you dance with me?

I sat down at the kitchen corner table and said to Nate with pouting eyes & sad face "GOSH....I wish I could just pee on a stick & two magical pink lines would appear!!!"

I wish I may I wish I might! Have this wish I wish tonight!

Well, then on Thursday August 11th came around I am sitting here wondering... where is aunt FLOW? She's late & that never happens. I thought gosh this is silly I know I'm not pregnant because I asked Jesus for a baby on my birthday on August 4th & the pink lines said NO! I said to Jesus. It's fine. I know that you know the plans for me. Good ones.....

Little baby Olive Oertel makes her appearance to the world... and little do you know.... I have two pink lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My heart dropped to the floor... or should I say flew to the ceiling of our tiny tiny tiny bathroom. SERIOUSLY! TWO PINK LINES! JESUS THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! NO IT"S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Last week you said no... but I was!!! I took yet again another test TOO early! Silly me!!!!!! Nate? Where is Nate? Oh he's at the Rivera's playing Dominion. No that won't do! He's gotta come home! I called him up excitedly!!! while attempting to be non-challant" Hey Nate, whatcha doing? You are other people? Walk away... ummm yeah just walk away.. it's cool." By this point I'm giggling like a school girl saying TWO PINK LINES! TWO PINK LINES.

So he comes home & we dance around like children. Parents? HAHAHAHAH Just grown up children I say!

A few days later I already found myself a Doula & a Midwife. Went in for my first appointment. I was determined to be around 5 weeks pregant. Took some blood all the regular.

I remember feeling sad that I wasn't sick at all for week 5 wondering what was wrong. Telling Stephanie that I wished I was sick so I would know everything was ok! She laughed & said " I'll quote you on that...  you don't want to be sick"

This week my baby is the size of a sweet pea & I'm excited to think that maybe I'll get to be MOMMY!
I keep singing " Oh Sweet Pea Oh Won't you dance with me? Common Common Common and be my girl... (or boy)."

Started our little project this week: Tell you more next post!
